I'm Late....With My Currently!

The first 2 weeks of October was midterms. So needless to say doing Farley's Currently Link-Up was the farthest thing from my mind. But thank the good Lord they are over and I am pleasantly pleased with my midterm grades! 4.0 baby!

Listening: The Vampire Diaries, one of my guilty pleasures, enough said

Loving: Thank the good Lord midterms are over, but know I don't know if I should be happy or fearful of the next 8 weeks!

Thinking: Right now, I do not have much on the brain.

Wanting:  I LOVE fall and what would be better than a new pair of knee-high brown boots.

Needing: I have 2 assignments due next week...they WILL be done before Saturday morning! I need a homework free weekend!

Trick or Treat: I've been drinking a lot (like a copious amount) of coffee!

September CURRENTLY

Well, it's that time of the month again! Farley's Currently Link-up! I'm pretty sure I mention this every month, BUT...I love this Link-up! I get to "meet" great new bloggers and find some really cool blogs to follow. So if you haven't yet, hop over to Oh' Boy 4th Grade!

So, without further ado...

Listening: I have the worst time concentrating on homework at home. It doesn't matter what I am doing, I have ADD at home. Needless to say, I spend a lot of time at Starbucks!

Loving: Starting the 3rd week of August, I resigned at the montessori school I worked at, to solely concentrate on finishing my degree. It feels totally weird not working. Until I get reminded that I am working, for free at my practicum.

Thinking: At the time that I completed the Currently picture, it was way past midnight. And I was an ADD moment, so I decided to do my Currently =)

Wanting: Yeah, that didn't happen!

Needing: That did happen, YAY!

<3 Myself Spot:
#1- Pretty self-explanatory! Getting my bum in gear!

#2- This semester is chalk full of readings...many, many, readings! For my sanity and the sanity of those around me, I need to stay caught up on those!

#3- I joined Weight Watchers 2 months ago. I found that it is an awesome program to stay accountable for what I eat. I think I want to eat junk, check how many points I'd have to use...then opt for a fruit or veggie instead! Getting healthy is not an overnight thing. But I'm taking steps in the right directions!

August Currently

I just love this Linky from Farley over at Oh' Boy 4th Grade! I alway meet great new bloggers through this Linky!

Listening: I recently started watching this series on Netflix. My husband makes fun of me for it, but that doesn't stop me!

Loving: I currently work at a year around Montessori school. Once the semester starts my school scheduled will be insane. I'm closer to being done than before, and my Mr. Smith and I decided I needed to concentrate on being a full-time student. So I have one more week of work left! I'm ecstatic!

Thinking: I will have one week between work ending and school starting! I can't decide what to do! I think a full body massage might be in order!

Wanting: Do I NEED new shoes? Probably not! But there is something about starting a new school year that just screams new shoes!

Needing: They're SO expensive!

B2S Must haves:
1.) I bought my Erin Condren Lifeplanner and now I'm patiently waiting to be able to fill with will all sorts of things!
2.) I LOVE my NorthFace backpack! I cram SO many things in there and at the end of the day, my back isn't killing me!
3.) Because drinking fountain water is kind of nasty!

My journey...thus far

Ever since I was a little girl, I've always had an instinct to educate others. So much so that the children who attended my mom's daycare didn't appreciate my "summer school"! Years later, I happen to stumble upon a job working in a church nursery. The woman that hired me suggested that I take my resume over to the school office. Not knowing if they had positions available or not, I handed my resume over hoping for the best. Within a week, I was interview and hired. At first, it was only 2 hours a day, Monday through Friday working with preschool aged children. Slowly, my hours started adding up. After two years working as a preschool aide, lunch recess supervisor, and an after school care aide, there was an opening at work part-time as an aide in the kindergarten classroom. That school year I wore many different hats, but loved every moment of it! After my third school year, I got the opportunity of my lifetime. I was asked to work in kindergarten 5 days a week, all day! The amount of knowledge I received from my mentor teacher is beyond belief. When I become a teacher, I will owe much of my success to this wonderful person, Mrs. U! It was very hard to say goodbye to my students and the staff who had become family. But I'm on to a new journey now, and it's only going to get better from here! In the fall I will start school as a junior at Washington State University to complete my teaching degree!

Mrs. U and I on the last day of school!

July Currently!

LOVE Farley's Currently Link-ups!

Listening: Wish I were able to be out by the river watching the fireworks as well!

Loving: With me getting closer to graduating, that means more intense classes and longer practicum, which means less time for work. As of August 16th, I will officially be a full-time student and a full-time student only! YAY!

Thinking: It was so hot this last week! Too hot to take the kids outside! Can you say cabin fever y'all?!

Wanting: I really wish my work (a daycare) was not open the day after the 4th of July!

Needing: I'm getting antsy to start classes in August! I need my textbooks already!

Tips, tricks, or hints: Making numero uno happy first, will help you make others happy! Lesson learned!

Where has the time gone?

April to June was sort of a blur! Between wrapping up the school year and taking finals, it was crazy!

But I want to ensure my [few] followers, I'm alive and well! I could be better if the preschool I work for wasn't year around...but you know what they say about lemons and such!

Let's Get Aquatinted Linky Party!

Mrs. Reed over at Flying into First Grade is having her VERY FIRST linky party (What better way to meet new bloggy friends than through a linky party)!

So Let's Get Acquainted!

My initials are L.M.S.

L: Learning: I'm in college working towards my degree in elementary education at Washington State University (Go Cougs), so there is still a lot of "learning" I have to do!

M: Makeup- Lately, I've been into obsessed with makeup. Like weekly trips to Ulta obsessed. I'm in love with the Benefit brand right now!

S: Soccer- I played soccer for many, many years! Until I hurt my hip and was sidelined, well, FOREVER! Lady Gaga ain't got nothing on me! ;)

Is It Summer Yet?

WHOA! Spring semester is in FULL swing, and I mean full swing. Aside from working 40 hours a week at my job, I'm taking 2 upper level classes, and a practicum 1 day a week. Just typing it out makes me sound like a mad woman, and that's how I've been feeling. On top of all that, I was studying from the WEST-B exam. In Washington, the state requires all future teachers to take a skills test before they can get their certificate (WEST-B stands for Washington Educators Skill Test-Basic). Then when you are almost complete with your degree you take the WEST-E, which is another skills test where they will also test you on your endorsement. Needless to say, I've been rather stressed. The test is over and I feel rather confident, but I have to wait until March 4th for the results.

I am SO lucky to have a sweet and caring husband. He has noticed that I have been pretty hectic lately. So the weekend after my exam he took me to Seattle. We ate some awesome food, shopped, walked around Pike Place Market, enjoyed each others company, and most of all enjoyed no studying or textbooks!

Currently JANUARY 2-0-1-3!

First of all, WOW, 2013 already! Which means another installment of Currently from Farley over at Oh' Boy 4th Grade! I remember like it was yesterday that we were preparing to celebrate the big Y2K! What will 2013 bring us?!

Listening: I've been feeling so sick the last week. I honestly didn't want to do anything! Luckily Mr. Smith obliged since he knew I was feeling crummy. We spent the first part of the evening at my mom's eating appetizers and chit-chatting. Then we spent the rest of the evening cuddled up at home. We're not 80 years old I promise, but we're kind of homebodies.

Loving: See above!

Thinking: The last 7.5 years, Mr. Smith and I have been moving around at least once a year. We've finally settled in a place we feel like we'll be in for a while. I have 2 years of school left, I'm not going anyway (transferring while in the middle of a major seems like it would be chaos). I have a lot of white walls to decorate!

Wanting: I have always wanted an iPad since they have debuted. I'm hoping 2013 will prove successful in that department!

Needing: I've been looking into Erin Condren's Life Planners. Does anyone have one? Or something similar?

OLW: FAITH, gotta have some! =)

Happy 2013! I wish everyone a happy, healthy, loving new year!
